Discussion meeting: Mitigating Operational Impacts
Delivering real improvements in local air quality.In line with the IAQM guidance as air quality professionals, we quantify impacts (negligible, slight, moderate or substantial at individual receptors) and based on our professional judgement, conclude whether effects on local air quality are likely to be significant. Ammonia emissions contribute to particle pollution and urban smog, damaging sensitive natural habitats through excessive nitrogen deposition and acidification. Emissions in the UK have only fallen by 10% since 1970, however the Netherlands have reduced their emissions by over 60% since 1990.
