The well-known effects of air pollution on human health, together with its significant economical impacts and role in worsening inequality, calls for urgent, integrated and sustained action to reduce emissions at source. The application of suitable and effective mitigation measures are also sorely needed to lessen the impacts observed. To be effective such measures need to be feasible, politically supported, and bring sufficient benefits to society. These measures also need to be balance the need to reduce the overall pollution burden to the maximum extent possible within funding constraints.
This webinar will look at the key air quality issues in the Dhaka region, their potential solutions, and the cost/benefits associated with selected measures evaluated as efficient to solve and/or significantly contribute to the amelioration of air pollution.
