Consultation open on Mineral Dust Impacts Guidance

The IAQM is consulting Members on the draft Guidance on the Assessment of Mineral Dust Impact for Planning. This IAQM document has been prepared to assist practitioners undertaking dust assessments for mineral sites. It applies to the extraction, handling , processing (e.g. crushing/screening) and transport of solid minerals, and not to liquid or gaseous mineral products. It provides advice on robust and consistent good practice approaches that can be used to assess the operational-phase dust impacts, and is for use in the planning process. It is not designed for other purposes such as Environmental Permitting. Please send your comments before that date to minerals@iaqm.co.uk. The Guidance will be launched at 2pm on 24th May at Arup’s Office in London. Please book your place as soon as possible.
